CAPS SA, a CAPS Group company, have become a partner in the project ‘Implementation of innovative technology for environmentally friendly gluing of composite materials, assymetrically laminated, used in the furniture industry’ (also known as ‘Eko-Mebel’), run by the Wood Technology Faculty of Warsaw University of Life Sciences. This project was ranked as the 3rd out of 210 projects entered into TANGO competition organised by the National Centre of Research and Development and the National Science Centre. The aim of this competition is demonstrating the practical implementation of the results of basic research with significant innovative potential, in this case with results important for the furniture industry.
The results of ‘Eko-Mebel’ conceptual stage were officially presented on the 24th of October during a seminar attended by the representatives of furniture and wood industries and academic staff members from the Wood Technology Faculty and the Wood Technology Institute. Invited guests included representatives from such companies and institutions as Ikea Industry, Infosystems, Versal, Impress, Leitz, Szynaka Meble, Bostol, Techno – Drew, Mentis, Woodcraft, Instytut Technologii Drewna, Akademia Technologii, B+R Studio and CAPS.
CAPS will take part in the research and development stage aiming at developing the industrial technology of asymmetrical lamination of composite materials used in the furniture industry, which would fulfill high environmental standards. CAPS have been investing for years in modern technologies that enable the company to offer high-quality products and compete succesfully in the international markets. Our participation in the project will help us to expand our know-how necessary for further development of innovative solutions, to share experience and tighten cooperation with academic institutions shaping the future of furniture industry in Poland.
